The 2016 Texas Shootout Leveling Tournament is now over and we had another great all-around showing for Austin youth hockey programs.

At 10U-A2 level, both Austin teams, did great.  The Texas Jr. Stars and the PHC Mallards had two epic games, both of which ended 5-5, both going to shootout.  In the semi-final, the Texas Jr. Stars edged the Mallards to go to the finals where they fell to the San Antonio Jr. Rampage.

At 10U-A level, Coach Perardi for second year in a row led his team to a tournament championship.  The 10U-A boys steamrolled through their division, scoring 65 goals in 5 games, and only letting in 5, including one game where they did not allow a single shot on goal.  In the final, Texas Jr. Stars handily defeated HC Dallas 12-1 to complete their championship run.

At 12U-A2 level, PHC Mallards avenged their sole loss in the tournament by beating the Amarillo Bulls 6-4 to win the championship.

At 12U-A level, Texas Jr. Stars had a bit of a tough road, going through eventual tournament runner-ups and Dallas Stars Elite team.

At 12U-AA level, PHC Mallards went 3-1 in the round-robin stage.

At 14U-A level, PHC Mallards and Texas Jr. Stars went neck-in-neck getting 4th and 5th place respectively,

At 16U-A level, Texas Jr. Stars battled to a 5th place in a very tight division.

Congratulations to all Austin youth hockey players, coaches, and parents.  Here’s to what looks to be like another great year for our hockey community!
